Cover Crazy #4

Cover Crazy is a weekly meme hosted at The Book Worms and gives you the chance to show off your favourite covers:)

Wow, it has been AGES since I have done a cover crazy. But I am fixing that now :)

Evil is most assuredly afoot—and Britain’s fate rests in the hands of an alluring renegade . . . and a librarian.
These are dark days indeed in Victoria’s England. Londoners are vanishing, then reappearing, washing up as corpses on the banks of the Thames, drained of blood and bone. Yet the Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences—the Crown’s clandestine organization whose bailiwick is the strange and unsettling—will not allow its agents to investigate. Fearless and exceedingly lovely Eliza D. Braun, however, with her bulletproof corset and a disturbing fondness for dynamite, refuses to let the matter rest . . . and she’s prepared to drag her timorous new partner, Wellington Books, along with her into the perilous fray.
For a malevolent brotherhood is operating in the deepening London shadows, intent upon the enslavement of all Britons. And Books and Braun—he with his encyclopedic brain and she with her remarkable devices—must get to the twisted roots of a most nefarious plot . . . or see England fall to the Phoenix!

I fell in love with this cover when I saw it. I will admit that I am painfully ignorant of Steampunk...stuff (another little thing I am working on - honest - so watch this space) But I fell in love with this cover when I saw it. I just think it is brilliant that the lady on the front is the one ready to shoot you while the guy is drinking tea. Haha. Love it! And let us not forget to mention the trademark goggles.

Cover Crazy about Luthiel's Song

I think I  must be trying to subconsciously catch up on all of the blogging I have been missing or somehing, because this is going to be what the 4th post in one day. Woohoo go me!

So, Cover Crazy is a meme that can be found over at The Book Worms so have a wee meander over there and check it out if you so wish :)

And as the name suggests, it is a chance to go crazy over a cover!

(Well...covers in my case)

Ya'll know about my love of EPIC! book covers and the Luthiel's Song series by Robert Fanney? Yes? So I thought I would gush unashamedly over the gorgeously gorgeous cover art for these books.

Book 1

See the wolf to the left! I was so happy when I read the book, looked at the cover and went 'I know who you are!' hehe. Easy to please.

Book 2

As you can probably tell this cover was drawn by a different artist. And although I LOVED the first cover this one has an edge to it that comes with the book. What with her standing there with a sword in her hand :)

And Book 3. This book has not been released yet (hopefully it will be by the end of the year) but we do have the cover art to tease us.

Does that look EPIC, or does that look EPIC! *squeal* can't wait!

Cover Crazy about Cry Wolf

Cover Crazy is a weekly meme hosted at The Book Worms

It was a bit of a toss up for a cover this week but when I was sorting through the bag of stuff heading to the second hand shop I hit on it.

I think this cover is great. I like the whole thing. It has a nearly haunted look about it if that makes any sense. The only thing that is a bit of a let down it the 'new' covers for Patricia Briggs' books. All the covers have been changed to these silhouette type covers than have nothing on the art work of the old covers.

Yeah...see what I mean...?

It is just missing everything that is amazing about the original! In my humble opinion...

Cover Crazy about Lisa Mantchev

Just look at that GORGEOUS COVER!!! I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. It is soooo pretty!!

I love this series and I can't wait for the third and final installment *sniff* to come out in September. My love for this series drove me to do 2 things (well 3 really) that I have never done before in my life.
1. Enter a competition to win an ARC of the book. I didn't win - obviously :(
2. PRE-ORDER the book. I have never been one for pre-ordering books. I just get them when they come out. But not this time. It will be in the mail to me on release day and in my hand by the end of that week. Yipee. CAN'T WAIT!!
and 3. willingly spend the extra pennies on a hard back book because I - in all honesty - couldn't wait for the paperback.

Back to the cover.

It is just such a fantasy front cover! Fairies, a girl and a white dress! It also brings so many questions to mind about what is going to be happening in the last book. e.g. why is Bertie's hair white? Hmm...

And since I am talking about the series I can not finish this post without showing the equally beautiful covers of the first 2 books in the series...

How pretty will they all look on a shelf together!
