Feature and Follow Friday - Unread that Book!

Follow Friday is a weekly Blog Hop that can be found over at Parajunkee’s View.

Q: If you could “unread” a book, which one would it be? Is it because you want to start over and experience it again for the first time? Or because it was THAT bad?

Switched by Amanda Hocking. I wish I could strike this book from my mind.  I hated it!!! Bugged the life out of me. Normally if a book annoys me this much I can find SOMETHING (ANYTHING) to redeem it in my eyes. Not so with this book.

Now I realise that this opinion is not shared by everyone as it is a VERY successful series.

But for me…*reaches for the brain tipex*

  1. I just started this book (the self-pubbed edition, since my library didn't have the St. Martin's edition) and I'm having the same reaction. SO many errors & it's killing my brain cells. I am leaning towards a DNF on this edition and then maybe trying out the other one. We shall see.

  2. I haven't read it yet, and I have a long reading list and several summer assignments to do, so I'm glad I can eliminate one! (For now, of course. By August, I'll be itching for even more books.) :D

  6. I am not an Amanda Hocking fan either. I read the first book in her other self-published series and was less than impressed.

  8. I really didn't like this book either! It made me downright angry and ranty (thus is my most popular review on goodreads of course)

  10. I'm following you via GFC. My blog is at: http://365-books-a-year.blogspot.com/

I read Switched last year- a buddy read in a Goodreads group. I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it. I didn't even like it- thought it was mediocre. Which, after thinking about it because of today's question, I'm finding that mediocre books are a bigger time waster than truly awful books. I read way more mediocre books every year compared to 1 star books. And yet, I could have been reading a great book instead. I'm usually pretty good about finishing series once I start them, but I just can't bring myself to read the next book in the series. I don't really know anyone who was rushing off to read book 2 either.

  11. Hopping through. I liked Switched, but maybe it's because I didn't go into it expecting much. I should read more of the series though.
